Campbell & Haliburton Insurance (myCH.ca) is once again proud to sponsor the Brent Gibson Memorial Icebreaker Triathlon, which will be held May 26, 2024, and is scheduled to begin at the University of Regina, Wascana Parkway.

Brent Gibson Memorial Icebreaker

Gibson’s Legacy

Brent Gibson was a respected insurance broker and manager at Campbell & Haliburton Insurance. He was also a triathlete and marathon runner who founded the Regina Multisport Club. Brent was passionate about creating a community and learning platform for other triathletes in Saskatchewan and brought his energy, enthusiasm, and sense of fun to every event.

The Icebreaker Triathlon is a testament to Brent’s community-building spirit. It’s not just about the race. It’s about recognizing every athlete’s effort and dedication, symbolized by the Middle of the Pack Award. The individual who finishes in the middle of the pack receives the award in honour of Brent and in recognition of the fact that sometimes trying can be as important as winning.

Who It Supports

The Brent Gibson Memorial Icebreaker is a fundraiser for the Campbell &Haliburton Excellence Program, which supports the Provincial High-Performance Program. This program plays a crucial role in athletes’ receiving national and international training, participating in competitions, and receiving team clothing and other training services.

Events

Events for the 2024 event include various challenges for sprinting, swimming, biking, running, sprint relays, super sprints, the Sask Summer Games qualifier for youth, and the Sasktel Kids of Steel Event. There is something for all ages, with competitions starting at 4 years of age and moving through to adults. We’re looking forward to another great marathon and hope to see everyone out with their sneakers tied, bike helmets strapped on and swim caps snuggly in place. Let’s show Regina how it’s done once again!
